Why Some Spirits Stay?

Have you ever passed an abandoned home or business and instantly said, "That looks haunted?"I know I have. However, I love the old saying, "If these walls could talk."Who lived there? When did they live there? What were they like? Did they have a big family? Or was there tragedy and now the walls hold those stories forever?I enjoy stumbling upon old abandoned homesteads. It's sad to see them vacant and falling apart as nature slowly reclaims them.Without a family inside a dwelling, I believe that causes a house to die.As for the ghosts that may wander the halls of these old dwellings, they may be there for a reason. Perhaps the home holds their happiest memories, and they aren't ready to let them go. Or maybe they are caught between this world and the next, unsure of how to move on.Many who believe in spirits feel they are not necessarily tied to the place where they passed away and may travel freely. My grandmother passed away in my parents' home, yet I have seen her, heard her and smelled her hand lotion here in Alstead. Most recently, I went out to run errands, came home and my little dog smelled strongly of the lotion my grandmother used every day.I'd like to think she was here looking after my dog while I was out. I am grateful. If you ever encounter any of these experiences and feel unsure or frightened, never respond. Simply go about your day as though nothing happened. And if you're still unsure, send me an email. I can connect with an amazing group of people who can bless your home and help you find answers about what may be going on.
