Peterborough Town Library to showcase work by Jeanne Maguire Thieme

PETERBOROUGH — The Peterborough Town Library is set to celebrate the natural world this summer with a new exhibition in its Community Art Gallery, featuring the work of local painter Jeanne Maguire Thieme. The solo exhibition, titled "Keep the Vision 2026," will run from Friday, June 5 through Thursday, July 30. The collection showcases Thieme's work in both acrylic and watercolor, with a heavy focus on atmospheric light and the organic, abstract patterns created by the movement of water and pigment. The public will have multiple opportunities to interact with the artist during the exhibition's run: Opening Reception: Friday, June 5, from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.Artist Talk & Live Demonstration: Tuesday, June 23, from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Thieme will demonstrate her techniques, share insights into her creative process, and take questions from the audience. Thieme, who works out of her Pipe Dream Studio in Swanzey, is an award-winning artist and a signature member of several prestigious organizations, including the New England Watercolor Society and the New Hampshire Art Association. Her upcoming local showcase follows recent national recognition; one of her acrylic pieces was named a finalist in the AcrylicWorks 13: The Best of Acrylic Art competition and is slated for publication in Artists Magazine this September. An avid hiker, farmer, and horseback rider, Thieme uses her outdoor passions to fuel her creativity. As an active land trust member, she also views her art as a vehicle for environmental advocacy. "I paint my passions," Thieme said. "If my work can remind us of the beauty and importance of protecting what we love, I will be comforted that I have been a part of a solution."
