The frontier comes to Fort No. 4

CHARLESTOWN — The Fort at No. 4 will transport visitors back to the colonial frontier this weekend during The Original Primitive New England Rendezvous. The living history event runs from Friday, May 22, through Sunday, May 24, opening daily at 10 a.m. Designed to celebrate early American commerce, craftsmanship, and cross-cultural exchange, the weekend gathers historical reenactors, traders, and history enthusiasts along the Connecticut River. The event offers a fly-on-the-wall perspective of early frontier life. Throughout the weekend, reenactors dressed in period attire will demonstrate traditional settler crafts and survival skills, including live blacksmithing and weaving. Organizers highlight the rendezvous as both an educational resource for history buffs and a unique weekend outing for families looking to learn about the challenging circumstances of early American settlement.
