Every year our community of animal lovers comes together with one shared purpose: to give animals the chance of a better life. On May 2, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monadnock Humane Society (MHS) invites all to join the 38th Annual Walk for Animals at Brown Memorial Fields, located at 732 West Swanzey Rd. (Route 10), in Swanzey. The Walk for Animals brings together people who understand the profound impact animals have on our lives. Whether you've shared your days with a loyal dog, a comforting cat or another beloved companion, this is your chance to honor their place in your heart and give back to those still waiting for their second chance. What Makes This Walk Special A Day of Fun and Connection: Share stories, smiles and a sense of purpose with fellow animal lovers. Bring your four-legged family member so they can make new friends too. Raffles and Prizes: Take part in exciting raffles for prizes you'll love. It's a win for you and a win for the animals. Vendor Village: A favorite part of the event for a reason, explore booths featuring local artists and organizations for pets and pet lovers. From treats to toys, you'll find plenty of ways to spoil your pet while supporting local businesses. Dog Agility Course: Watch your dog learn new tricks and explore their athletic capabilities in our engaging agility course. The course is doggie approved for all sizes and experience levels. Food and Family Fun: Enjoy family-friendly entertainment and activities throughout the day, including a photobooth, face painting and delicious options from local food trucks. Dog Safety First: To help keep this day safe and enjoyable for everyone, dogs must be leashed with no retractable leashes and up to date on vaccinations. Please consider your dog's temperament and physical ability before participating. Help Us Reach Our Goal This event is a powerful reminder of what we can accomplish together. Funds raised directly support animals in need by providing shelter and specialized care, connecting pets with loving families, offering vital programs and services such as affordable clinics, the Pet Food Pantry and Animal Safety Net program.
