Evenings and Weekend Story Times Now Offered at the Peterborough Town Library

The Peterborough Town Library is pleased to announce new story time offerings to better serve working parents and children who attend school during the week. This winter, PTL will offer two opportunities a month for kids of all ages to attend a story time at the library during evenings and weekends. Saturday Storytimes will be held on the last Saturday of the month at 10:30 a.m.: Feb. 28, March 28 and April 25. Head of Youth Services, Aimee LaRue will share stories, sing songs and more — all ages are welcome. Stories will be on the shorter side with movement and songs in between to help keep younger listeners engaged throughout. PJ Storytimes will be on the third Tuesday of the month at 5 p.m.: February 17 and March 17. Led by Aimee and other Youth Services Staff, each story time will feature stories around a theme and a craft. February brings a celebration of the Chinese New Year, and in March they will be celebrating St. Patrick's Day. PJ Storytime is open to kids of all ages; stories and crafts are geared towards preschool through early elementary school aged children. Story time is more than just developing a love of stories. These programs help children become more comfortable and excited about visiting the library, encourage good reading habits for the whole family, and help provide parents with the tools they need to help their children learn and discover. There are no strict age requirements as all children are different! Call Aimee if you have any questions about which story time is right for you.
