Step by Step: A Walk to Give Animals a Second Chance

Every year, our community of animal lovers comes together with one purpose: to give animals the chance at a better life. On May 3, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., we invite you to take part in the 37th Annual Walk for Animals at Keene State College's Joyce Athletic Field. This event is a celebration of compassion, a tribute to the bond we share with animals and a collective effort to support Monadnock Humane Society (MHS) and its life-saving mission. The Walk for Animals brings together those who understand the profound impact animals have on our lives. Whether you've had the joy of sharing your life with a loyal dog, a comforting cat or any other furry friend, this is a day to honor their place in our hearts and give back to those who need our help. As you lace up your sneakers, think of the animals who have touched your life. Some will walk with their beloved pets; others will walk in memory of animals who have passed and some will come simply to be part of a movement that makes a difference. Together, we create a powerful ripple of support — one step at a time. What Makes This Walk Special: A Day of Fun and Connection: As you stroll along the lively route with your furry companion, you'll be surrounded by other animal lovers, sharing stories, smiles and a collective purpose. Exciting Raffles & Prizes: With every step you take, you're helping animals in need, and you might just walk away with some incredible prizes, thanks to our exciting raffle baskets. It's a win-win for you and the animals! Vendor Village: Explore booths filled with local artists and organizations that cater to pets and pet lovers alike. From treats to toys, you'll find plenty of ways to spoil your pet(s) while supporting local vendors. Dog Agility Course: Bring your dog to try out our fun and challenging agility course! Whether they're big or small, experienced or new to agility, this is a great opportunity for your dog to explore the course and have fun. It's an exciting experience that celebrates the special bond between humans and their canine companions! Food and Fun: Keene State College will provide delicious breakfast and lunch options, offering the perfect way to fuel up. Plus, there's plenty of family-friendly entertainment and activities to keep everyone smiling. Dog Safety: For the safety of all, dogs must be leashed (no retractable leashes, please) and up to date with their vaccinations. Make sure to assess your dog's temperament and physical capability before participating to ensure a safe and fun experience for everyone. Help Us Reach Our Goal! You can help us hit our fundraising goal by joining as an individual, starting a team or fundraising from the comfort of your own home! One of the most effective ways to multiply your impact is through peer-to-peer fundraising — tapping into your personal network to boost your contribution. Many of your friends, family and colleagues are happy to support you and the causes that matter to you. Plus, your efforts help connect MHS with new potential donors who may not yet be part of our community through our newsletters or social media. Fundraising for our animals has never been easier!
