It's All Fun and Games at The Clubhouse

Get ready, Charlestown — something exciting is coming your way! The Clubhouse Bar and Grill is set to open soon, bringing a fresh and vibrant spot for locals to unwind, dine and have fun. While the official opening date is still under wraps, the buzz is already building around this much-anticipated addition to the neighborhood. With a menu offering something for everyone, a fully stocked bar and plenty of entertainment options, The Clubhouse promises to be more than just a place to eat. Whether you're looking to challenge friends to a game in the game room, gather around the outdoor fire pit, catch a game on one of the many TVs or enjoy live music every week, this new hotspot is ready to become the go-to destination in Charlestown. Owners Gary and Alichia Knight talked about opening a restaurant one day and will now make their dream a reality. An important consideration for them was making a space that not only has a little something for everyone of every age but also making it an affordable place to visit. "Since our kids have all grown up and moved out, we find we eat out more and the biggest thing … we've noticed is if you go out and have a few drinks with your meal, you've got a $60 to $70 bill sitting in front of you. We feel like the margins can be adjusted so that people can afford to eat out … and be able to have a couple beverages and not feel like they can't do that more than one night a week," explained Gary Knight. The Clubhouse Bar and Grill will be serving home cooked quality food for lunch and dinner with menu items ranging from steak and burgers to salads, soups and wraps. They will offer a buffet style breakfast on Saturdays and Sundays with items such fresh fruit, eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, bagels and muffins. During the weeknights, you will be able to expect a nice selection of entertainment from karaoke, trivia, line dancing and open mic comedy, along with plenty to do in their game room which will be offering pool, darts, Jet Pong, "which is beer pong on steroids," described Knight, "and a boxing machine — you punch the machine and it tells you how high your score is." Outside the building there is an 18-foot-long fireplace to sit at and enjoy, and a large rustic, saloon-type building with three televisions, two of which face outside, Touch Tunes for music and four cornhole set ups. In the warm summer months, you can count on their Portacools for relief as they will be offering outside air conditioning that blows ice cold air up to 50 feet. The Clubhouse Bar and Grill will be home to 24 TV screens in total, many of which are available to be controlled by the patrons, so they can watch whatever they'd like, whether it's a game, the news or their favorite reality show. On the weekends (Friday and Saturday nights) you can expect to have a live DJ dance party or live music from local bands. "The dance floor is going to be a blue marble floor that glows under the black light and the DJ lighting is all modern, which you would expect to see in Boston and New York," said Knight. They also plan on offering an 18-plus dance party night once a month, "to give the younger generation a place to go," he added. The Clubhouse already has their 2025 Get Rocked Tribute Band Concert Series in the works. They are hoping to book five bands and will be kicking it off with the band, Get Poison'd. Upon its grand opening, The Clubhouse Bar and Grill will be open Tuesday through Sunday and is located at 32 Hastings Place in Charlestown.
