The buzz is real in downtown Keene — after all the preparation and hype, the Yellow Bell Café officially opened its doors on Wednesday, March 5, and it's already the talk of the town! With a cozy, nostalgia-filled vibe that'll make you feel like you're stepping into Grandma's kitchen, this charming spot is dishing out delicious pastries, mouthwatering breakfast and brunch options and a full bar featuring signature cocktails and a fantastic selection of mocktails. Whether you're stopping by for a sweet treat or a leisurely drink, Yellow Bell Café is the perfect place to relax, sip and savor. Owner Adam Berube was inspired by the nostalgia of home-cooked meals at his grandmother's house when he created this go-to brunch spot. For Berube, the concept of the Yellow Bell Café is very personal. The name itself is a tribute to his grandmother's yellow curtains and her extensive collection of bells. He wanted the place to "evoke warmth and familiarity," and it certainly does, providing a welcoming environment for anyone who walks through the door. A seasoned restaurateur, Berube is also the owner of two other beloved downtown Keene spots: Fireworks Restaurant and Muse Bistro. At Yellow Bell Café, he brings a fresh twist to classic American breakfasts. Each dish is made from scratch with high-quality, locally sourced ingredients, ensuring that every bite is both delicious and unique. From farm-fresh eggs to signature plates like corned beef hash and huevos rancheros, the café's breakfast and brunch menu is sure to impress. In addition to the savory offerings, the cozy café also features a tempting array of fresh-baked treats. Their selection of yeast and cake donuts includes indulgent flavors like Boston cream, orange cake, molasses, mimosa-filled, passion fruit cruller, cinn-sugar and vanilla bean. For those with a craving for something other than donuts, the hot honey cornbread and coffee cakes are a must-try, as are the flavored scones, Danishes and apple fritters. Many of the baked goods are handcrafted daily with rotating flavors and seasonal specialties, ensuring that there's always something new to try. To accompany your meal, Yellow Bell Café offers a curated selection of specialty coffee, espresso drinks and locally roasted coffee, as well as a variety of teas. And, of course, don't forget to try one of their mimosas or a bloody mary to kick off your day in style. The drink menu pairs perfectly with the atmosphere. If you want to visit but don't have a lot of time, you have nothing to worry about. There are plenty of grab-and-go options like hot breakfast sandwiches, yogurt parfaits and to-go specialty beverages. No need to reserve a table, you can order your meal and drink right at the counter.
