There will be two musical acts hitting the stage near the County parking lot for the Sentinel's 225th Anniversary Community Celebration that you won't want to miss: Heath Lewis, a country blues artist and Morgan-Nelson, a country-folk-bluegrass duo. You may find yourselves immersed in the musical performances by these two class acts because of their unforgettable blend of dynamic energy and intimate artistry. Heath Lewis, of Turners Falls, Mass., grew up in Asheville, N.C., and has been living in the area for about seven years now. Lewis, a simple and easy-going guy, started playing drums when he was 12 years old and is now a singer-songwriter. He will be on vocals and guitar and playing alongside lead guitarist, Dave Lake, of Keene. Lewis plays covers, as well as his own music. He performs at many local bars, breweries, restaurants and events in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. Lewis will be playing on the stage from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Morgan-Nelson is a dynamic duo from New Hampshire. Solo artists, Lynda Nelson and Dan Morgan, joined forces to deliver a captivating blend of original music and covers. From the heartfelt melodies of country to the soul-stirring rhythms of folk and bluegrass, their performances are a testament to the richness and diversity of American music. They've been creating music together for six years. "Both of us have a passion for music. We perform original music and some of the popular covers, our style is country folk and a little bit of bluegrass. Dan, every now and then, will throw in some southern rock," described Lynda Nelson. "We have formed a great friendship and enjoy playing music together." With Nelson from Concord and Morgan from Manchester, they play all over the State of New Hampshire at fairs, festivals and summer concert series. They also play private events and have performed in Massachusetts and Maine. Morgan-Nelson will be playing on stage from 2 to 5 p.m. Whatever style of music you are into, either of these performers are sure to have something to sing or dance along with.
