Around The Sentinel's newsroom, we sometimes refer to the newspaper as, "The Miracle at 60 West St." Somehow, some way, we get the news out each and every day. Joking aside, any local news organization marking 225 years of continuous service, all under local and independent ownership, is tantamount to a minor miracle in this day and age. But divine intervention is too easy an explanation for The Sentinel's longevity. This endeavor, this miracle, is only possible through the hard work and dedication of the people who work here, those who came before us, and you – the readers and community who support us. So please allow me, as editor of this commemorative edition, to offer The Sentinel's deepest gratitude to: All of my colleagues listed on the previous page. These are your hard working, dedicated neighbors who make The Sentinel. All of the staff, volunteers and countless community partners who have helped plan The Sentinel's 225th Anniversary Community Celebration this weekend.
